On February 24 and 25, my workshop “Refining Your Sense of WRITING” in Seoul ended successfully.
The workshop was organized by my friend and calligrapher Hwang Jun-young,and held as part of the Doosungpaper Sponsorship Program by Doosungpaper 두성종이, the leading paper company in Korea. The venue was one of the rooms in their paper gallery, and thanks to the good environment and their hospitality, we were able to spend two days in a relaxed atmosphere.
And most of all, thank you to everyone who participated!
I must say they are very BRAVE because they took the leap of faith into this workshop, where it was difficult to imagine what exactly would be taught. I was very impressed that everyone followed the course flow with an open mind and was enthusiastic about each exercise. The results on paper were interesting, of course, but I think the most important thing for each of them was the experience and feeling they got while they were working on them. I could learn a lot from them as well!
2月24、25日、ソウルでのワークショップ『書くことの感覚をみがく』(Refining Your Sense of WRITING) が無事に終わりました。
このワークショップは、私の友人カリグラファーであるHwang Joon-youngさんの企画（通訳も）により、韓国を代表する紙会社ドゥソンペーパー（Doosungpaper）社によるドゥソンペーパーギャラリーのスポンサーシッププログラムの一環として開催されました。会場はペーパーギャラリーの一室を使わせていただき、良い環境とおもてなしのおかげで、リラックスした雰囲気で２日間過ごすことができました。
そして何と言ってもご参加くださった皆さん！
何を教わるのかが具体的にイメージしにくいこのワークショップに思い切って飛び込んでくださった方々は、本当に勇気のある方達だと思いました。皆さん心を開いてコースの流れに付いてきてくださり、１つ１つの課題に熱心に向き合っておられ、とても感銘を受けました。
紙に残った結果ももちろん面白いものでしたが、皆さんがそれに取り組まれていた時の体験、感覚が、各自の一番の収穫ではないかと思っています。私も皆さんから多くを学ぶことができました。
異文化での初めてのワークショップは、私にとってもとても良い経験となり、自信ともなりました。皆さん、ありがとうございました！
